GomSpace has signed a 1.2 million euro (13.2 MSEK) contract with the European Area Company (ESA) to develop a security-enhanced era of its NanoCom product line below the SECUSAT program. The settlement helps the evolution of safe satellite tv for pc communications capabilities for each institutional and business customers.
SECUSAT will improve GomSpace communication and onboard pc merchandise to handle demand for resilient hyperlinks in contested area and terrestrial environments. The mission will combine next-generation cryptographic capabilities and safe communication protocols immediately into GomSpace’s space-qualified subsystems.
By embedding superior encryption and authentication mechanisms on the communication layer, SECUSAT is meant to enhance safety of area infrastructure towards cyber threats. The ensuing programs are deliberate to offer end-to-end safe information transport that may be utilized throughout a variety of missions, from authorities and protection customers to business operators.
GomSpace will lead a consortium of European companions with expertise in cybersecurity, telecommunications and area programs. The staff contains DLR in Germany, which contributes analysis and system-level safety experience, Starion in Luxembourg, which focuses on cryptographic applied sciences, and KiviCore in Germany, which gives software-defined networking and protocol capabilities.
The consortium construction helps a broader European effort to strengthen technological autonomy in area and enhance cyber-resilience. The SECUSAT work is positioned to feed into future safe mission architectures and requirements.
