Claire chatted to Amir Patel from College School London about designing robots with the agility and manoeuvrability of a cheetah.
Amir Patel is an Affiliate Professor of Robotics & AI within the Division of Laptop Science at College School London (UCL). His analysis makes use of robotics strategies—sensor fusion, pc imaginative and prescient, mechanical modelling, and optimum management—to know and quantify animal locomotion, particularly high-speed predators such because the cheetah, and to translate these insights into bio-inspired machines. Beforehand, he served on the school of Electrical Engineering on the College of Cape City, the place he based and directed the African Robotics Unit (ARU).
