Messages: Setting to All the time Show Time Stamp?

Is it doable to show the Time Stamp of messages by default in each the Desktop Messages app, and the cell app?

That is the default view:

Clearly, the time stamps are viewable by hovering the mouse over a message for the desktop model, or swiping left within the cell app.

However having them all the time displayed with out the mouseover popup like this:

Would make much more sense. There does not appear to be a setting to all the time present the time stamp in both Messages.App or Messages for iOS, and I am conscious this does not appear to be an Apple-supported possibility, however maybe it might be achievable via Terminal or an add-in.
