JuLY 23, 24 & 25

Summer season is in full swing right here on the farm. The fields are bursting with greens – we’re racing to get our fall plantings in (sure, already fascinated by fall and winter shares!) and we’re anxiously awaiting the tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and CORN to be prepared! Only a few extra weeks on these!

I’m actually wanting ahead to the Swiss chard and Sweetheart cabbage on this week’s shares.

IN THE BOX…

Basil
Storage: “Bouquet-style” in a glass of water. Change water each day. OR retailer in an air-tight bag within the fridge.
What I am making: Pesto to place away within the freezer for future use!

Sweetheart Cabbage
It is a candy, pointy-style cabbage that’s actually standard in Germany. It has a extra tender leaf and is ideal for slaws.

Carrots
