Teledyne FLIR and SYPAQ Accomplice for Australian Military CorvoX

Teledyne FLIR OEM has introduced a collaboration with SYPAQ Programs, one among Australia’s main sovereign drone producers, to combine the NDAA-compliant and ITAR-free Boson® thermal infrared (IR) digicam into the brand new CorvoX small unmanned aerial system (SUAS). The system is below contract for supply to the Australian Military in December 2025 as a part of the Australian Defence Power DEF129 SUAS program.

Superior Thermal Capabilities

The CorvoX thermal drone is configured with the Corvo Guarda 70-DN EO/IR payload, that includes a 640 x 512 decision Boson sensor that delivers thermal imaging efficiency for reconnaissance and surveillance operations. In keeping with the producer, the Boson offers “world-leading thermal imaging efficiency, seeing by way of darkness, smoke, and most fog.” The thermal sensor pairs with an electro-optical (EO) sensor inside a two-axis mechanical system geared up with superior stabilization algorithms for geo-lock, object detection, and transferring goal monitoring—capabilities important for dismounted soldier operations.

Efficiency and Portability

Designed for hand-thrown or floor VTOL takeoff, the light-weight CorvoX thermal drone weighs lower than 4.4 kilos (2 kilograms) and includes a 32.3-inch (82-centimeter) wingspan. The system achieves flight endurance as much as 50 minutes and most speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h), whereas sustaining class-leading efficiency in excessive climate with wind resistance as much as 35 mph (55 km/h). Its modern thrust-vectored vertical takeoff and touchdown (VTOL) configuration reduces operator workload throughout deployment.

AUKUS Collaboration Focus

Amanda Holt, CEO and Managing Director of SYPAQ Programs, highlighted the strategic significance of the collaboration, stating: “The Thermal by FLIR program represents a pure evolution of our dedication to delivering world-class sovereign protection capabilities globally. The Boson integration into our CorvoX platform exemplifies how strategic collaborations between Australia, the UK, and the USA (AUKUS) nations can speed up the event and supply of superior applied sciences into the arms of the warfighters.”

Jared Faraudo, Vice President of Product Administration at Teledyne FLIR OEM, emphasised the operational benefits: “SYPAQ’s dedication to sovereign manufacturing and safe, high-volume provide chains aligns with our mission to allow modern, market-leading thermal infrared know-how worldwide.”

Upcoming Exhibition

SYPAQ will showcase the CorvoX and Corvo Guarda 70-DN payload at Indo Pacific 2025 in Sydney, November 4-6, 2025, on the Victorian Authorities Pavilion No. 3F92.
