Becoming a member of Omnivision’s Nyxel NIR line, the OX05C1S global-shutter HDR picture sensor targets in-cabin driver and occupant monitoring techniques (DMS and OMS). The 5-Mpixel sensor, with 2.2-µm backside-illuminated pixels, captures clear photos of the complete cabin, enhancing algorithm accuracy even beneath difficult high-brightness situations.
The OX05C1S leverages Nyxel know-how to attain excessive quantum effectivity on the 940-nm NIR wavelength, bettering DMS and OMS efficiency in low-light environments. On-chip RGB-IR separation reduces the necessity for a devoted picture sign processor and backend processing.
With package deal dimensions of 6.61×5.34 mm, the OX05C1S is 30% smaller than the previous-generation OX05B (7.94×6.34 mm), offering larger mechanical design flexibility for in-cabin digicam integration. Lens compatibility with the OX05B permits reuse of current optics, simplifying system upgrades and decreasing total design value.
The OX05C1S sensor is obtainable in each shade filter array (RGB-IR) and monochrome configurations. Samples can be found now, with mass manufacturing scheduled for 2026.
