Google is testing having the citations follow the highest (of the AI Overview part solely) as you scroll down previous the AI Overview. This retains these citations extra in view, as you scroll over the AI Overview.
This was first noticed by SERPAlerts on X who wrote, “Google is testing out a sticky citations format on desktop for AI overviews, making it so the primary quotation stays with the consumer on scroll. Usually, AI overview citations stay stationary and will probably be scrolled out of view.”
