Claire chatted to Amy LaViers from the Robotics, Automation, and Dance Lab concerning the inventive relationship between people and machines.
Amy LaViers works on the intersection of robotics and dance. Her writing, choreography, and machine designs have been offered internationally at performing arts and engineering venues, together with Merce Cunningham’s studios, the Efficiency Arcade, and universities like Berkeley and Brown. She is the founding father of three startup firms, together with AE Machines, which received “Product Design of the 12 months” on the 4th Rev Awards in Chicago. Amy runs the Robotics, Automation, and Dance (RAD) Lab, a non-profit for art-making, commercialization, schooling, outreach, and analysis.
