The OCUDU Ecosystem Basis, a collaborative initiative hosted by the Linux Basis to advance the open supply RAN ecosystem, at this time introduced the supply of OCUDU 26.10. The OCUDU technical venture’s new launch considerably expands the capabilities of the venture’s open supply CU/DU platform with 3GPP Launch 17 Non-Terrestrial Community (NTN) assist, 8T8R MIMO, enhanced beamforming and multi-beam operation, O-RAN Cut up 7.2b, native 5G positioning and new capabilities designed to cut back latency and strengthen safety.
The discharge displays the rising breadth of open supply RAN expertise as operators, distributors, researchers and governments discover extra versatile approaches to superior wi-fi infrastructure. By extending the platform throughout terrestrial and satellite tv for pc connectivity, higher-order antenna configurations, positioning and extra O-RAN architectures, OCUDU 26.10 provides builders and implementers extra choices for constructing and testing subtle 5G networks whereas establishing a basis for rising 6G use instances.
Key capabilities of OCUDU 26.10 embrace:
-
Broader connectivity and deployment choices: 3GPP Launch 17 NTN assist brings 5G satellite tv for pc connectivity to OCUDU, whereas O-RAN Cut up 7.2b supplies higher flexibility in how radio processing is distributed throughout the community.
-
Higher efficiency and decrease latency: 8T8R MIMO, enhanced beamforming and multi-beam operation enhance radio capability and suppleness, whereas two-step RACH, uplink pre-scheduling and configured grants scale back connection and uplink response instances.
-
New positioning and safety capabilities: Native 5G positioning expands assist for location-aware purposes, whereas steady fuzz testing, OSS-Fuzz participation and DTLS signaling encryption strengthen platform safety and resilience.
